Nassau/Inagua


Your driver will pick you up at your hotel at 7:30am and take you to the airport for a 9:15am flight to Inagua, arriving in Inagua at 11:35am. You will be met at the airport by your Inaguan host and taken to your guesthouse or the educational center. After a light lunch, your island exploration will begin.

Take a dip into the crystal blue waters of Inagua from the white sand beaches lined with swaying palm trees. Just off the shore you will find a shallow reef where a city of fish, turtles and other marine life can be found. Later in the afternoon your guide will take you into the island interior to see the flocks of flamingos turn the skyline pink; there are over 100 bird species which can be found on the island as well as wild donkeys, wild boar, and other wildlife.

Inagua


Wake up to a golden island dawn and a hearty breakfast before starting your day's activities. Depending on your volunteer interests the days could include the following activities:

.Building bird blinds for the Bahamas National Trust (BNT) .Renovation of the BNT camp in the middle of the Inagua National Park
.Work with a local church group on improvements to Mathew Town
.Education (primary/middle school)

Of course your trip to Inagua will not be all work -- you will want to play a little. Your local host can organize bird watching trips, snorkeling, fishing, or other tours that will break up your volunteer activities while you are in Inagua.

Inagua/Nassau


Start your day with an optional early morning bird drive to see the flamingo flocks and other birds one last time or take one more swim or snorkel to the coral reefs near Mathew Town before you jump on the plane back to Nassau. The flight leaves at 11:15am and arriving in Nassau at 1:35pm. At the airport you will be welcomed by a car and driver who will transport you to your hotel in Nassau. The afternoon and evening you are free to explore Nassau or just relax at your hotel.
