Half Day - Flamingo Salt-Flat Tour

This evening or morning tour will take you along the quite roads that border the salt lakes of the island. You will discover many water birds that dwell in or around these brackish lakes as well as spot a wild donkey or two.

Full Day – Outback Bird Exploration

This full day excursion starts in the morning with a drive through the salt-flats of the island to see the Flamingos as they feed in the lakes. You will be able to see a variety of bird life on foot or from the air-conditioned 4x4 vehicle. From the salt flats you will proceed into the interior of the island, exploring assorted habitats from dense island forests, where you can find the Bahamas Parrot, to stunted dwarf forests along the coast interspersed with cactus and palm. Have lunch along a deserted beach, relax in the shade, take a stroll along the sand, or take a dip and snorkel the reefs off the beach. In the afternoon while continuing on your birding quest, you will find ruins of century-old farming settlements. As the sun dips across the horizon, you will revisit the salt flats to see the birds as they return to roost.

Full Day - Inagua from Land and Sea

This tour starts in the early morning with a bird watching drive through the salt flats of the island to see the flocks of flamingos and other water loving birds. You will then board a flat-bottomed boat and head through the crystal blue waters along the coast. A light lunch will be provided on a deserted beach as you wander around in search of shells or just relax in the shade. If you are interested you can snorkel right off the beach, seeing fish of all shapes and sizes. The tour will continue along the shoreline and into mangrove lined creeks to see osprey, heron, and other birds. On the way back to your guesthouse keep an eye on the trees to see the Bahamas Parrot that lives in abundance around Mathew Town.
