About this Project

Inaguans are taking it upon themselves to develop the services and attractions needed to develop a sustainable tourism industry on the Island.

The Inagua Sustainable Tourism project was funded by the Inter-American Development Bank through the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF). Project partners include the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and the Bahamas National Trust.

The objectives of the project were to:
1- Stimulate community-based tourism development and local entrepreneurship.
2- Raise awareness levels and stimulate visitor interest in Inagua (Marketing).
3- Market Sensitization and Transfer of Skills and Technologies.
4- Product Development and Investment
